Ajmal Thottoli - CAPPA

Ajmal Thottoli

Researcher

Ajmal obtained an Integrated Masters degree in Photonics from the International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology, India, in June 2021. His academic projects included fabricating dye-based polymer optical fibres and studying the enhancement of Rhodamine 6G at CUSAT, as well as exploring particle scattering and whispering gallery modes under Dr. V. Narayanan at IIT Jodhpur. In November 2021, he began his Ph.D., a double doctoral program between Politecnico di Bari, Italy, and CAPPA, MTU under the supervision of Dr. Marco Grande, Dr. Giovanni Magno, Prof. Antonella D’Orazio, Dr. William Whelan-Curtin, and Dr. Ganga Chinna Rao Devarapu. Funded by the EU H2020 PASSEPARTOUT project, his research focused on Advanced Nanophotonics for Gas Spectroscopy. Upon completing his Ph.D. in July 2025, he joined CAPPA as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working on a DTIF project. His research interests include silicon photonics, spectroscopy, and fibre optics.
