Simon Jeffers

Ph.D. Student

Simon graduated from CIT with a First Class Honours in Instrument Engineering in 2020. He worked in Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Japan, under Prof. Síle Nic Chormaic and was working predominantly in the field of micro/nanofabrication. He has also worked on a project with CAPPA to investigate the efficacy of face masks/coverings in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Centre for Applied Photonics and Process Analytics (CAPPA) at CIT. His PhD is in the area of Hybrid Comb Lasers and is under the supervision of Dr. Liam O’Faolain. The title of the paper is “Ultra-Fast Hybrid Comb Lasers”.
