The Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) is delighted to announce that they are an official sponsor of the MTU 5K run which will take place on Sunday March 6, 2022. This race is part of the Business Houses Athletic Association (BHAA) annual calendar. The race will start at 11:00 the route is the same as the Rebel Run 5K and will start at the tiered parking area in MTU Bishopstown Campus. Registration is open from 09:30 on the day and there is spot prizes for down the field runners and 20% off The Edge Sports Shop with race numbers. The race was held as part of the BHAA calendar for the first time in March 2020 and did not take place last year due to the COVID – 19 pandemic.

The Business House Athletic Association (BHAA) is an organisation, which promotes a calendar of road races, throughout the year in Cork. Cork BHAA is a not-for-profit organisation with all proceeds from races being re-invested to make the race experience even better for every runner. There is a variety of categories of runner with prizes for each category. There is always a strong MTU representation at the BHAA races, so it is great to have them organize this race as part of the annual calendar.

Speaking at the official launch Dr Liam Lewis said “CAPPA are delighted to be sponsors of the MTU 5K event. We are looking forward to seeing all our runners on the day and welcoming our colleagues additionally from across our new campus’ to join in the race” The sponsors this year include Munster Technological University (MTU), the Rubicon Centre, The Edge Sports Shop, MTU Extended Campus and CAPPA.
