Davide Monopoli - CAPPA

Davide Monopoli

Master Student

Davide is doing his master’s degree in Electronic Engineering at Polytechnic of Bari. During his MSc, he carried out an internship based on the design and simulation on Rsoft of a multimode coupler (MMI) cooperating with the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) and his Professor, Marco Grande. For his Bachelor degree, he graduated at Polytechnic of Bari developing a thesis based on numerical analysis and simulations about the parity time simmetry and anti-parity time simmetry for ring resonators and sensing applications. Now for his master thesis, he is involved in the “IPIC” project for the development of comb laser sources as a part-time Researcher at the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) at MTU under the supervision of Dr. William Whelan Curtin. His main goal is the fabrication and characterization of a MMI device that works as an artificial saturable absorber for comb laser generation.
