The Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) is delighted to be hosting a series of talks tilted “Shine a Light on Physics” for primary and secondary school students. The talks for primary school students will take place every Thursday from 6th – 27th of May from 10 – 10.30 am. The talks for secondary school students will take place on May 12 from 9.30 am – 12.00 pm. The event will consist of a series of online talks and experiments across a variety of physics topics with a specific focus on photonics in everyday life. The event will focus around International Day of Light, which take places on May 16 2021. The International Day of Light is a global initiative that provides an annual focal point for the continued appreciation of light and the role it plays in science, culture and art, education and sustainable development and in fields as diverse as medicine, communications and energy.
