The Centre for Advanced Photonics & Process Analysis (CAPPA) are delighted to announce they will be hosting their annual physics and maths transition year programme for 2022. The transition year week will take place from the 7th to the 11th of February 2022 from 09:00 am to 13:00 pm Monday to Friday. Due to continuing COVID – 19 restrictions, a decision on whether the event will take place online or in person will be made in January 2022.

The programme will include:

  • Attending lectures
  • Interactive seminars
  • Lab tours
  • Talks from technical staff in the workshops
  • Talks from research groups
  • Focus on women in physics
  • Photonics in industry
  • Physics in everyday life
  • Photonics COVID – 19 research
  • Careers in Physics
  • Completion of an assigned project

Registration for the programme is now open and the application form can be downloaded below. The below consent form must also be filled in by the students parent/guardian in order to register interest for the programme.

Applications for the programme will be open until 17th of January 2022, however this programme is in high demand and should the programme fill before that date, it will close earlier. You can view some of the talks that took place during last year’s programme on the CAPPA YouTube channel here.
